1.Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM) rubber is a type of three-component copolymer made from ethylene, propylene, and non-conjugated dienes. The main characteristics of EPDM rubber are its excellent resistance to oxidation, ozone, and chemical substances. Due to its weather resistance, it is often used in outdoor environments and is widely applied in areas such as automotive window seals.

2.Nitrile rubber is abbreviated as NBR. It is a copolymer of butadiene and acrylonitrile. The acrylonitrile (ACN) content in the NBR molecule is variable (18% to 50%), which can be used to adjust the oil resistance and low-temperature resistance of the material. The higher the acrylonitrile content, the better the resistance to lubricating oil and fuel, but the low-temperature elasticity is worse. Conversely, when the acrylonitrile content is lower, the low-temperature resistance is better, but at the expense of the resistance to lubricating oil and fuel. The O-ring specifications of military standards AN and MS require nitrile rubber with a low acrylonitrile formula to ensure its low-temperature resistance. Nitrile rubber has excellent compression permanent deformation, tear resistance, and wear resistance, but does not have good weather resistance and ozone resistance, and its heat resistance is only moderate.

3. Chloroprene rubber, also known as Neoprene or CR, was successfully synthesized by the American company DuPont in 1931 as an elastomer. It was the first synthetic rubber developed and is widely used in sealing components. Chloroprene rubber is a multifunctional elastomer that possesses moderate oil resistance and weather resistance (ozone, ultraviolet rays, oxygen), low permanent deformation during compression, good recovery elasticity after compression, good wear resistance, and good resistance to bending cracks. Chloroprene rubber is often used to seal refrigerants such as Freon® and ammonia, and is also frequently applied in rubber-covered metal parts due to its good adhesion.

4.Fluororubber is also known as FKM. Fluororubber is a type of highly saturated fluorine-containing polymer. Since the invention of fluororubber by DuPont Company in the United States, due to its excellent properties such as oil resistance, high temperature resistance, solvent resistance, strong acid resistance, strong oxidant resistance, flame retardancy, and aging resistance, fluororubber has been widely applied in cutting-edge technological fields such as national defense and military industry, aerospace, electronic communication, vehicles and ships, and petrochemicals. Fluorocarbon products have better high-temperature resistance and resistance to various chemicals compared to other materials, making them the most commonly used elastomer for manufacturing O-rings and other custom sealing components.

5. Silicone is abbreviated as SE. In physics, silicone is a material based on quartz silicon. To produce this grade of synthetic rubber, huge organic pendant groups such as methyl, phenyl, and vinyl must be attached to the silicon atoms. By adding different side chains, different properties can be achieved. The characteristic of silicone is its wide range of usage temperature and good low-temperature elasticity. At high temperatures, its physical properties are superior to those of ordinary rubber materials, and it is also very suitable as a static sealing material under extreme temperatures. Silicone is very clean, odorless, tasteless, and non-toxic, so it is widely used in many food and medical products.
