First: "Compression molding" is the most widely used molding method by most manufacturers of silicone rubber products. It is also the simplest one. The process is to place the pre-prepared silicone rubber material into the mold cavity installed on the vulcanization molding machine. The mold also needs to be set to an appropriate temperature according to the material. Then, through hot pressing, the product undergoes a period of vulcanization to obtain the product we need. The product obtained in this way is called compression molding.
Second: The "transfer molding" process is quite similar to the compression molding process. The main difference lies in the structure of the molds. The transfer mold has a fixed area for placing the material. During the closing of the mold, the material is subjected to pressure and is injected into the mold cavity through the flow channels distributed on the mold surface. After a period of curing, the desired product is obtained. This molding method is called transfer molding in the industry.
Third: The "injection molding" process is suitable for manufacturing products with high precision and relatively complex structures. Injection molding combines compression molding and transfer molding. Instead of manually placing the materials into the mold cavity, it uses an injection molding machine to automatically feed the raw materials, mix them, and then send them into the injection barrel of the machine. Then, through the piston movement, the material is injected into the mold cavity through the injection port and runner of the mold, similar to the principle of an injection syringe. Finally, it undergoes vulcanization molding.
