April 7, 2017 the company received a consultative call on water proof seal ring from a customer of Hunan, because we had many successful cases of such products for other customers before, and have more than 20 years experience in silicon rubber product development and manufacturing, the customer was very interested in our company. After all it is the firs contact, the customer sent us a product 3D of water proof seal ring carrier with the try-and-see attitude, also representing official beginning of water-proof seal ring project.
Upon receiving the product drawing of the customer, the engineering department made an analysis and judgement immediately. Because the 3D sent by the customer is not the 3D of final product, but the carrier’s, we need to make development and design aiming at the product of the customer. We sent the designed product drawing to the customer the next day, then the customer presented new requirement for operating environment of the product that the product shall still maintain its original properties under 90℃ammonia water environment, which we had never encountered. But it does not matter, it is just our job to resolve problems for customers. With the help of our strong supply chain system, through multiple discussion and communication with raw material suppliers, we finally found suitable material for the customer, and controlled material cost with the range accepted by both sides. Our efforts were not wasted, making the customer see our good faith, so both of us reached cooperation intention soon. 5 days later the customer received 500 pcs samples,We followed up the result of assembly and test by the customer all the time, unfortunately we received the feedback from the customer that our assembled sample leaks air. On the same day the customer sent a complete set of assembled part to us for review, soon we found where the problem is, the problem is not from the our product, but the carrier, because water proof seal ring is required to be installed between two aluminum alloy, but the aluminum has much burr when being machined, and neither aluminum plates are flat, resulting in air leakage because of gap at some part after they are closed. For that we suggested to lower surface contacting seal ring of both aluminum plates by 0.1mm respectively without increasing cost. The customer accepted our suggestion, the result of retest after adjustment is very satisfying. Thus the water proof seal ring project succeeded completely.
